The validator asks Site Discovery Engine to fetch and validate an accessible sitemap. It may report XML, namespace, URL structure, sitemap index, date and extension findings. Only findings returned by the provider are shown.
URL reachability, canonical comparisons and search indexing are only measured when the backend actually supplies observations. A clean report does not guarantee a URL is indexed.
Only public HTTP(S) URLs without custom ports or credentials are accepted.
Validation may run asynchronously. The page polls the existing validation job.

Does this submit my sitemap to Google?
No. To submit an owned sitemap, sign in to Google Search Console. Successful submission does not guarantee indexing.
Will it follow sitemap indexes?
Site Discovery Engine can validate sitemap index structures under its configured traversal and resource budgets. A report may be partial if the backend or free response caps are reached.
Does it check that every URL is indexed?
No. XML sitemap checks and Search Console URL indexing data are different. Unmeasured reachability and canonical status remain unknown.
Why do I see no diagnostics?
The provider returned no findings in the queried result collection. This alone cannot prove every sitemap URL was crawled or indexed.
